Happenings of S&L: The Circus!

Last Friday, Lee and I went to the Circus! There was a coupon for a buy one ticket and get the other free. We decided to be kids once again and go to down town Green Bay for this event. We thought it was funny to be the only adults without children there. The adults seemed more amused than the children most of the night anyway. It lasts 2.5 hours, so that is one long show for a young child. The children got to have rides on the elephants, ponies, and camels before the show.

My favorite part was to see the tigers acting so friendly with their trainer (or whatever his title would be). It was so cool to see him whip his whip and have the tigers come down from their stools to strike a pose or do a trick, just to return to their stools when commanded. One tiger even cuddled up to the trainer and let him lay down on his fur coat and give him a hug. It would be such a neat feeling to be able to hug a tiger! Besides the tigers, I was laughing as the humongous elephant did a dance to the music by hopping and lifting one leg up, and then hopping to the other leg and lifting another leg. I couldn't believe my eyes when the elephant was balancing on a large (very LARGE) can and walking it so that it would spin under his legs.

Lee's favorite parts of the show included a man from China who could balance all different sizes of vases on his head and do tricks at the same time. He could balance the vase and then turn his body in a circle while the vase was staying in the exact position it landed in when it first was placed on his head. Lee also was so amused by a clown's act that involved a little dog dressed in an elephant costume. There were three "stuffed animals" thrown out to the floor. He had to use a key to wind up the animals so they would walk. None of the animals would walk, except for the elephant. It only walked when it was winded up. It would only last so long and then fall over dead. The clown placed the elephant on a medal bench and it walked the whole bench and then fell over again. At the end of the act, a little dog rips itself out of the elephant costume and runs around. :) Lee thought the clown was hilarious when he would cry. He had a button that would make his tears shoot out really far and get people wet.

The Tigers being good "little kitties."


Look at the two acrobats who were using the bar. It was amazing to watch one girl hold the bar while the other hung off of it and did tricks. That would take some muscle!
